Why You Should Read Curate

Everyone seems to be full of advice these days. From your favorite celebrity to that travel-blogging insta-influencer you stumbled across, there’s no shortage of people out there telling you how you should live your life. So why should you add Curate to the cacophony of voices trying to convince you to go this way or do that thing? It’s a fair question, and I’ll try to give it a fair answer. Before you dismiss Curate as just another how-to blog, allow me to explain a few reasons why I think it’s worth joining the Curate community.

The first reason is that Curate is not, in fact, a how-to blog. While the women writing these articles may pull lessons from their stories, ultimately this is a space of community story-telling. We’re learning alongside you, and we don’t claim to have all the answers. The reason we ask older women to write is that they’ve had more years to make mistakes and learn from them. Hopefully, the things we’ve learned from our mistakes will help you navigate yours.

Which brings me to my next point: this blog is about YOU. The women who write these articles have either been in your shoes as students or have lived long enough in our Hillsdale community to know it intimately. Their stories are tailored to you, a female at Hillsdale College. Our community here is different than any other, which is why we thought it important to draw from people who really know what it’s like.

Because we have such a unique community here, the things we talk about are also unique. The women who write these articles believe in embracing our femininity in a way that has become rare in our society. We believe that females contribute beauty and strength to the world in a way that men don’t, and we celebrate that through Curate. We talk about the beauty of female bodies, the uniqueness of how women see the world, and how we can support each other in our particularly female struggles. We embrace femininity unapologetically and in its entirety. Few female communities do this anymore, and fewer still live it out alongside you.

The women of Curate want to support you in your individual journey, so if something sticks out to you in an article, e-mail the author! Every one of us would be thrilled to set up a coffee date or a phone call. Our motivation for sharing our lives with you is simple: we have all experienced the deep satisfaction of a living a life in pursuit of true womanhood, and we want to help you live that yourself. We all have different backgrounds, stories, and lives, but together we are chasing a common goal. We’re inviting you to join the Curate community to pursue this endeavor alongside us. If that sounds worthwhile to you, read on!
